How to Clean Gold. Gold Cleaning DIY

How to Clean Gold

Pour a few drops of liquid detergent into a bowl of warm water. Mix it gently so that the water does not spill. Make sure to mix all of the detergent. Don’t use hot or boiling water because it may crack some precious stones such as opals.

Soak the gold jewellery in your home made solution. Soak it in the water for about 15 minutes. While the jewellery is soaking, the water will go into the cracks so that it cleans hard to reach areas.

Gently scrub the toothbrush with a soft bristle toothbrush. Make sure to scrub each piece individually, paying very close attention to the small places where dirt might be hidden.  Using a soft brush is important because a hard brush may scratch the gold. If the piece is gold plated, stiff bristles may take the whole layer off entirely.

Rinse each piece of gold in warm running water. A solid rinsing will help remove all the lingering dirt that’s been loosened by your brush.

Blot dry the jewellery with a soft cloth. After drying it, let the gold air dry before wearing it again. If you put on wet jewellery it can irritate your skin leading to a minor rash.

How to Clean Silver. DIY

How to Clean Silver.

If your silver is dirty, surprisingly ketchup can help. Put a little on some paper towel and soak it in the ketchup. After letting it soak, gently rub the ketchup over the piece of jewellery. Run the piece under water after to take off the smell of ketchup. Dab it in a cloth and let it air dry.

Apply the corn starch on the piece of jewellery with a damp cloth, let it dry and then use a mildly abrasive piece of cloth such as a rough towel. If you don't have anymore corn start you can substitute it with some cream of tartar.

Hand sanitizer not only is great for fighting germs, but it's also a great silver polisher. Just squirt a few drops on a soft cloth and just rub away the spots to make it shiny again.

Using toothpaste is probably the best way of making clean silver clean. Put a little bit of toothpaste on a cloth and start rubbing the silver. Rinse it and then do the same thing again. Once you rinse it off a second time the silver will be nice and shiny again.

Some trick and hints to clean your bathtub.

Some trick and hints to clean your bathtub.

After a long day of work, some people want to just come home, relax and just soak in the bathtub. When you see a dirty bathtub, even after a long day you probably won't want to get in it. These bathtubs usually attract soap scum, mildew, and grime. The biggest thing it attracts is those pesky stains. Luckily with a few simple ingredients you can make your bathtub look new again.

Firstly, just some basic maintenance. After taking a bath or a shower, rinse the actual tub with warm water, and wipe away the excess moisture with a squeegee cloth.

If you want a deeper clean, pull out the handy dandy white vinegar. Fill a spray bottle with half vinegar and half water. Spray the whole tub surface and let it sit for about 15 minutes. Take a microfiber cloth and just rub it down. Rinse the tub with water again and it should look very clean.

To remove tougher stains, make a paste, which includes half hydrogen peroxide and half baking soda. Rub the paste on the stain and let is sit there for 30 minutes and then wipe away and rinse. If the stain is not fully gone you can repeat the process.

When treating rust stains, you can use a paste of borax powder and some lemon juice. Sprinkle the stain with borax juice and then use the half of the lemon to wipe of the powder off the stain. Keep rubbing until it turns into a paste. Let the paste stand for about 15 minutes and then wipe and rinse.

Choosing the Best Carpet Cleaning Company

Choosing the Best Carpet Cleaning Company

A house should be the place where you can rest from all the daily routine in the office or any work somewhere else. For some people, the only time they can spend the entire day in home is weekend. The problem is that any place requires regular cleaning, and spending a day only to clean your carpet is not the kind of relaxing activity you want, and this is where a carpet cleaning service comes in. Not all services are made equal, so here are some things you should consider before you rush to your phone and make the call.

1. Professionalism

It is difficult to figure out whether or not certain carpet cleaning company has the required professionalism. One of the easiest ways to find out is to read online reviews about the company, if available. You can also ask recommendations from your friends who have hired cleaning services before. Professionalism is often determined by how well the company does its job, but this factor is also affected by punctuality. In some cases, you may need to leave the house and come back several hours later. If the company has scheduled to clean your house within certain hours, you have to make sure that the company will get the job done as per the decided time.

2. Insured

Another important thing is that you only hire a carpet cleaning company which is insured. This is to prevent unnecessary financial loss or responsibility in case the cleaning operator gets hurt while he/she is doing cleaning job in your property. If the operator gets hurt, the claim will go to the company’s insurance.

3. Equipment

Before you hire a company, please ask questions about what equipment they use, because there are some companies that do not own a proper equipment. Sometimes they might arrive with  cheap rental equipment. The better choice is certainly the company which brings its own commercial-grade high-performance carpet cleaning equipment.
